      The Ratib of Imam Abdallah bin Alawi al-Haddad X, more commonly known as the Ratib al-Haddad is a collection of prayers that was inspired to the great Gnostic and scholar, the Renewer of the twelfth Islamic century; Imam Abdallah bin Alawi al-Haddad (1044-1132AH).

      Ratib al-Haddad comprises of verses of the Quran and the supplications of the Prophet ﷺ. The virtues of the Ratib, both worldly and religious, material and spiritual, are as the reader will see, immense. The optimal way of its recitation is once in the morning and once in the evening, although it may be recited just once in the evening. There is no need for a specific ijaza (permission) to recite it, as the litany, based upon the Quran and prophetic Hadiths, was not meant for a particular group of people, but was intended for the entire believing nation.

      The Litany came to the Imam through divine inspiration and was composed on the night of 27th Ramadan 1071 AH, on the Night of Destiny. The stimulus for its composition was a request by a student of the imam, a man named Amir from the Bani Sad, who lived in a village near Shibam. His purpose was to have a litany that would be a protection for all who recited it and that would contain specific items pertaining to the beliefs of the Ahl as-Sunna wa’l-Jama’a, to counteract the effect of the Zaydi invasion of Hadramawt.

      Ratib al-Haddad was first instituted in Amir’s village with the Imam’s permission, then at the Imam’s mosque at al- Hawi in 1072AH. It was recited regularly in congregation after the Isha’ prayer, except in the month of Ramadan, when it was recited before Isha to allow time for the Tarawih prayers.

      The Imam said that the Ratib would protect the town where it was recited, and would help people obtain the fulfilment of their requests from Allah. When he went for the Hajj he instituted it in Makka and in Madina. Ever since, its recitation has been established as a daily litany and is continued every night.

      It is related that Allah fulfils the needs of those who recite Ratib al-Haddad according to the intentions that have been made for its recitation. The accounts of its witnessed blessings, especially those in relation to the relief of distress, and protection from calamities are many. The spiritual assistance (madad) that flows from the recitation of Ratib al-Haddad is due to the fact that these Prophetic invocations were received through divine inspiration (ilham). When particular invocations are received in this way they are filled with baraka that is linked with the spiritual state of the saint. In his commentary of the Hizb ul-Bahr, Shaykh Ahmad Zarruq relates:

      The litanies of the masters of the people of perfection are mingled with their spiritual states. They have originated from their inspirations and are accompanied with miracles. They encompass the outpouring of their knowledge, the etiquette of their direction, and their knowledge of the path. They include the indication to the reality, the remembrance of the grandness, greatness, and exaltedness of Allah, the recollection of the lowliness of the soul and a recollection of their faults and sins.

      Hence, one will find that many benefits are related in reciting the litanies and invocations compiled by the people of gnosis and sainthood. The majesty of Imam al-Haddad’s sainthood was manifest in his very being. He was awe-inspiring because of the spiritual power emanating from him, as he related, ‘Allah, Mighty and Majestic is He, clothes us with awesome dignity, for in reality we are people of beauty.’ And Sayyid Ahmad ibn Hashim al-Habashi said, ‘I bear witness that Sayyidi Abdallah is a spiritual being in whom no trace of humanity remains.’

      The Imam once said:

      Were all the people of this age, old, young, male female to come to us, they would all benefit, both in their religious and worldly affairs, their outward and their inward, in the immediate and remote future. There are people whose bodies are in the West but their spirits are here with us, and there are others whose condition is the opposite of this.

      The spiritual assistance (madad) of the Imam carries the seekers on their ascent, despite their weaknesses in their hearts. He protects them from their own imperfections. He would say, ‘Those whom we come to know, we neither abandon them to shame or the flame.’

      The Imam would say, ‘We love and look after everyone whom we see eager to tread the path to Allah the Exalted. And I rejoice for the seeker who is true with himself, for he assists me with the blessing of his sincerity to take him along the path. For the Shaykh’s love will evidently differ in intensity according to the seeker’s sincerity, conformity and desire.’

      The great Gnostic Saint of Allah, and Shaykh of the Ba Alawi tariqa, the late Habib Ahmad Mashhur al-Haddad X would give special permission to recite Ratib al-Haddad at particular times, as well as in times of difficulty and stress. When the reciter comes to the Fatiha, he would say that the spirit of Imam al-Haddad responds and that the Imam’s spiritual help is present during the supplication that follows to aid its acceptance.

      Some related benefits of the Ratib al-Haddad

      Towards the end of his book Habib Alawi mentions some of the benefits and virtues of Ratib al-Haddad and he says:

      The Sayyid, the great scholar and Qadi, Saqqaf bin Muhammad bin Taha as-Saqqaf Ba-Alawi, may Allah have mercy upon him, has mentioned, ‘Whoever recites the Ratib of our master al-Haddad every night, it will suffice him for every other litany of the evening as it is comprehensive, beneficial, tried and tested.’ The great scholar and Gnostic Umar bin Zain bin Sumayt Ba-Alawi has related that Imam al- Haddad said, ‘Our Ratib is like an iron wall for every city in which it is recited.’

      Also the Shaykh and Gnostic Abd ul-Wahid bin Ali bin Subait az-Zarrafi X related to me:

      When Tuhmas, that is Nadir Shah, the foreign leader who had invaded many cities and people, set his sights on al-Awgan and threatened the people therein; the Sultan of al-Awgan, Sulayman said to him, ‘You will not, by the permission of Allah, be able to overpower us, even though you may have conquered other cities, for we have a fortified fortress; the Ratib of our master Abdallah bin Alawi al-Haddad.’ He ordered every one of his soldiers and the people of his city to recite the blessed Ratib. And so Allah did not give Tuhmas power over his cities or over his armies through the blessing of the noble Ratib. The Sultan lived during the time of our master the Compiler of the Ratib, and had written to him informing him of the impending calamity. So the Imam sent him the noble Ratib and ordered him to recite it saying, ‘It will protect you and your people from him.’

      It is also related by the great scholar and Qadi of Tarim our master, Alawi bin Ahmad bin Sumayt X, who said:

      I heard that some of the Arabs were once taken captive by some Christians who took them to their king. When they were brought before him, he ordered that they be executed. The interpreter of the group said, ‘This group are from the people of the Compiler of the Ratib.’ The King then said, ‘In which case let them go! And take them to the nearest Muslim city.’ They were spared because of the Compiler of the Ratib. Amongst the Christians there were some who believed in the blessings of the Ratib, that it would protect their ships, even though they were disbelievers. It is said that they would hire a Muslim to pray the Ratib on their boats.

      It has also been related that a man left to travel to his city when some Bedouins followed him to rob him. So he drew a circle around himself and began to recite Ratib al-Haddad. They were blinded from him while he sat looking at them.

      The Sayyid Ali bin Hasan X once related, ‘I slept one night and I did not recite the Ratib, then I had a dream and I saw an angel saying, “Every night I would serve you with this and that…” and he mentioned many blessings. “Tonight I have not served you with anything, for you did not read the Ratib.” I got up immediately and began reciting the Ratib.’

      One of the greatest benefits of reciting the Ratib is that the spirit of the Compiler of the Ratib is present during its recitation, as mentioned by the master Muhammad bin Zain bin Sumait X.

      It has also been related from the Compiler of the Ratib himself that whoever is regular in the recitation of Ratib al-Haddad will receive a good ending to his life (husn ai-khatima ‘Ind al-mawt).

      اَلْفَاتِحَة إِلَى رُوحِ صَاحِبِ الرَّاتِبِ اَلْقُطْبِ الْإِرْشَادِ الْحَبِيبِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَلَوِيّ الْحَدَّاد، وَإِلَى حَضْرَةِ النَّبِيِّ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، اَلْفَاتِحَة
      Al-Fātiḥa ilā rūḥi Sāḥibi r-Rātibi l-Quṭbi l-Irshādi l-Ḥabībi ʿAbdi Llāhi bni ʿAlawī al-Ḥaddād, wa ilā ḥaḍrati n-nabiyyi Muḥammadin ṣalla Llāhu ʿalayhi wa ṣallam, al-Fātiḥa.
      1. May the Fatiha reach the soul of the Master of the Ratib, the Qutb, the Spiritual Guide, al-Habib Abdallah bin Alawi al-Haddad, and the presence of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, al-Fatiha.
      ﴿بِسۡمِ ٱللّٰهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ ١
      ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلّٰهِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ ٢ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ ٣ مَٰلِكِ يَوۡمِ ٱلدِّينِ ٤ إِيَّاكَ نَعۡبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسۡتَعِينُ ٥ ٱهۡدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ ٦ صِرَٰطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ غَيۡرِ ٱلۡمَغۡضُوبِ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا ٱلضَّآلِّينَ ٧

      Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm,
      Al-ḥamdu li Llāhi Rabbi l-ʿālamīn, ar-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm, Māliki yawmi d-dīn, iyyāka naʿbudu wa iyyāka nastaʿīn, ihdinā ṣ-ṣirāṭa l-mustaqīm, ṣirāṭa lladhīna anʿamta ʿalayhim ghayri l-maghḍūbi ʿalayhim wa la ḍ-ḍāllīn.
      2. In the Name of Allah, the Benevolent, the Merciful All Praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. The Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful. The Owner of the Day of Recompense. You Alone we worship, and You Alone we ask for help. Guide us to the straight way. The way of those on whom You have bestowed Your Grace, not of those who earned Your anger nor of those who went astray.

      ﴿اللّٰهُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلۡحَيُّ ٱلۡقَيُّومُۚ لَا تَأۡخُذُهُۥ سِنَةٞ وَلَا نَوۡمٞۚ لَّهُۥ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِۗ مَن ذَا ٱلَّذِي يَشۡفَعُ عِندَهُۥٓ إِلَّا بِإِذۡنِهِۦۚ يَعۡلَمُ مَا بَيۡنَ أَيۡدِيهِمۡ وَمَا خَلۡفَهُمۡۖ وَلَا يُحِيطُونَ بِشَيۡءٖ مِّنۡ عِلۡمِهِۦٓ إِلَّا بِمَا شَآءَۚ وَسِعَ كُرۡسِيُّهُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَۖ وَلَا يَ‍ُٔودُهُۥ حِفۡظُهُمَاۚ وَهُوَ ٱلۡعَلِيُّ ٱلۡعَظِيمُ ٢٥٥
      Allāhu lā ilāha illā Huwa l-Ḥayyu l-Qayyūm, lā ta'khudhuhu sinatun wa lā nawm, lahu mā fi s-samāwāti wa mā fi l-arḍ, man dha lladhī yashfaʿu ʿindahu illā bi idhnih, yaʿlamu mā bayna aydīhim wa mā khalfahum wa lā yuḥīṭūna bi shay'in min ʿilmihī illā bimā shā'a, wasiʿa kursiyyuhu s-samāwāti wa l-arḍ, wa lā ya'ūduhu ḥifẓuhumā wa Huwa l-ʿAliyyu l-ʿAẓīm.
      3. Allah, there is no God but Him, the Living, the Self-Subsisting. He is not subject to drowsiness or sleep. Everything in the heavens and earth belongs to Him. Who can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is before them and what is behind them, but they cannot grasp any of His knowledge except what He wills. His Footstool encompasses the heavens and the earth, and their preservation does not tire Him. He is the Most-High the Magnificent.

      ﴿ءَامَنَ ٱلرَّسُولُ بِمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيۡهِ مِن رَّبِّهِۦ وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَۚ كُلٌّ ءَامَنَ بِٱللّٰهِ وَمَلَٰئِكَتِهِۦ وَكُتُبِهِۦ وَرُسُلِهِۦ لَا نُفَرِّقُ بَيۡنَ أَحَدٖ مِّن رُّسُلِهِۦۚ وَقَالُواْ سَمِعۡنَا وَأَطَعۡنَاۖ غُفۡرَانَكَ رَبَّنَا وَإِلَيۡكَ ٱلۡمَصِيرُ ٢٨٥ لَا يُكَلِّفُ ٱللّٰهُ نَفۡسًا إِلَّا وُسۡعَهَاۚ لَهَا مَا كَسَبَتۡ وَعَلَيۡهَا مَا ٱكۡتَسَبَتۡۗ رَبَّنَا لَا تُؤَاخِذۡنَآ إِن نَّسِينَآ أَوۡ أَخۡطَأۡنَاۚ رَبَّنَا وَلَا تَحۡمِلۡ عَلَيۡنَآ إِصۡرٗا كَمَا حَمَلۡتَهُۥ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِنَاۚ رَبَّنَا وَلَا تُحَمِّلۡنَا مَا لَا طَاقَةَ لَنَا بِهِۦۖ وَٱعۡفُ عَنَّا وَٱغۡفِرۡ لَنَا وَٱرۡحَمۡنَآۚ أَنتَ مَوۡلَىٰنَا فَٱنصُرۡنَا عَلَى ٱلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ ٢٨٦
      Āmana r-Rasūlu bi mā unzila ilayhi min r-Rabbihī wa l-mu'minūn, kullun āmana bi Llāhi wa malā'ikatihi wa kutubihi wa rusulih, lā nufarriqu bayna aḥadin min rusulih, wa qālū samiʿnā wa aṭaʿnā ghufrānaka Rabbanā wa ilayka l-maṣīr. Lā yukallifu Llāhu nafsan illā wusʿahā, lahā mā kasabat wa ʿalayhā ma-ktasabat, Rabbanā lā tu'ākhidhnā in nasīnā aw akhṭa'nā, Rabbanā wa lā taḥmil ʿalaynā iṣran kamā ḥamaltahū ʿala lladhīna min qablinā, Rabbanā wa lā tuḥammilnā mā lā ṭāqata lanā bih, waʿfu ʿannā wa-ghfir lanā wa-rḥamnā, Anta mawlānā fa-nṣurnā ʿala l-qawmi l-kāfirīn.
      4. The Messenger believes in what was sent down to him from his Lord, and so do the believers. Each one believes in Allah, His angels, and His books, and His Messengers, “We make no distinction between any of His Messengers.” And they say: “We hear and obey, we ask Your forgiveness, our Lord, for destiny leads to You.' Allah does not compel a soul to do what is beyond its ability, one gets what one has earned and is responsible for what one deserves. Our Lord, do not punish us if we forget or make mistakes; our Lord, charge us not with a burden such as You did lay upon those who were before us, our Lord, load not upon us that which we are unable to bear, and pardon us and forgive us and have mercy on us, You are our Protector so help us against those who disbelieve.
      [2:285-286]
      لَا إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ ﴿٣﴾
      Lā ilāha illa Llāhu waḥdahu lā sharīka lahu, lahu l-mulku wa lahu l-ḥamdu yuḥyī wa yumītu wa Huwa ʿalā kulli shay'in Qadīr. (x3)
      5. There is no God worthy of worship except Allah, Who is One and has no partner. To Him belongs the Kingdom, and to Him belongs all Praise, He gives life and death, and He has Power over all things. (Three times)
      سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ وَ لَا إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَاللهُ اَكْبَرُ ﴿٣﴾
      Subḥāna Llāhi wa l-ḥamdu li-Llāhi wa lā ilāha illa Llāhu wa Llāhu Akbar. (x3)
      6. Transcendent is Allah, all Praise belongs to Allah, there is no God but Allah, Allah is the Greatest. (Three times)
      سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ، سُبْحَانَ اللهِ الْعَظِيم ﴿٣﴾
      Subḥāna Llāhi wa bi ḥamdihi, subḥāna Llāhi l-ʿAẓīm. (x3)
      7. Transcendent is Allah by His Own Praise, Transcendent is Allah the Greatest. (Three times)
      رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتُبْ عَلَيْنَا، إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ ﴿٣﴾
      Rabbanā aghfir lanā wa tub ʿalaynā, innaka Anta t-Tawwābu r-Raḥīm. (x3)
      8. O Lord forgive us and relent towards us, for You are the Relentant, the Merciful (Three times)
      اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ، اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمْ ﴿٣﴾
      Allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā Sayyidinā Muḥammadin, Allāhumma ṣalli ʿalayhi wa sallim. (x3)
      9. Allah send blessings upon our Master Muhammad, O Allah send blessings and peace upon him. (Three times)
      أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللهِ التَّآمَّاتِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ ﴿٣﴾
      Aʿūdhu bi kalimāti Llāhi t-tāmmāti min sharri mā khalaq. (x3)
      10. I seek refuge in the Perfect Words of Allah from the evil of that which He has created. (Three times)
      بِسْمِ اللهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي الْسَّمَآءِ وَهُوَ الْسَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ ﴿٣﴾
      Bismi Llāhi lladhī lā yaḍurru maʿa-smihi shay'un fi l-arḍi wa lā fi s-samā'i wa Huwa s-Samīʿu l-ʿAlīm. (x3)
      11. In the Name of Allah, by Whose Name nothing in the Heavens or the Earth can cause harm. He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing. (Three times)
      رَضِينَا بِاللهِ رَبًّا وَبِالْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا وَبِسَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ نَبِيًّا ﴿٣﴾
      Raḍīnā bi Llāhi Rabban wa bi l-Islāmi dīnan wa bi Sayyidinā Muḥammadin nabiyā. (x3)
      12. We are pleased with Allah as our Lord, with Islam as our religion and our Master Muhammad ﷺ as our Prophet. (Three times)
      بِسْمِ اللهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ وَالْخَيْرُ وَالشَّرُّ بِمَشِيئَةِ اللهِ ﴿٣﴾
      Bismi Llāhi wa l-ḥamdu li-Llāhi wa l-khayru wa sh-sharru bi mashī'ati Llāh. (x3)
      13. In the Name of Allah and Praise be to Allah, both good and evil are by the Will of Allah. (Three times)
      آمَنَّا بِاللهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ، تُبْنَا إِلَى اللهِ بَاطِنًا وَظَاهِرًا ﴿٣﴾
      Āmannā bi Llāhi wa l-yawmi l-ākhiri, tubnā ila Llāhi bāṭinan wa ẓāhirā. (x3)
      14. We believe in Allah and the Last Day. We repent to Allah inwardly and outwardly. (Three times)
      يَا رَبَّنَا وَاعْفُ عَنَّا وَامْحُ الَّذِي كَانَ مِنَّا ﴿٣﴾
      Yā Rabbanā waʿfu ʿannā wamḥu lladhī kāna minnā. (x3)
      15. Our Lord pardon us and erase whatever we may have committed. (Three times)
      يَا ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ، أَمِتْنَا عَلَى دِينِ الْإِسْلَامِ ﴿٧﴾
      Yā dha l-Jalāli wa l-lkrām, amitnā ʿala dīni l-Islām. (x7)
      16. O Possessor of Majesty and Generosity, grant us death upon the religion of Islam. (Seven times)
      يَا قَوِيُّ، يَا مَتِينُ، إِكْفِ شَرَّ الظَّالِمِينَ ﴿٣﴾
      Yā Qawiyyu, Yā Matīnu, ikfi sharra ẓ-ẓālimīn. (x3)
      17. O Mighty, O Invincible, suffice us from the evil of the unjust. (Three times)
      أَصْلَحَ اللهُ أُمُورَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ، صَرَفَ اللهُ شَرَّ الْمُؤْذِينَ ﴿٣﴾
      Aṣlaḥa Llāhu umūra l-Muslimīna, ṣarafa Llāhu sharra l-mu'dhīn. (x3)
      18. May Allah correct the affairs of the Muslims, may Allah turn away the evil of those who harm. (Three times)
      يا عَلِيُّ، يا كَبِيرُ، يا عَلِيمُ، يا قَدِيرُ، يا سَمِيعُ، يا بَصِيرُ، يا لَطِيفُ، يا خَبِيرُ ﴿٣﴾
      Yā ʿAliyyu, Yā Kabīru, Yā ʿAlīmu, Yā Qadīru, Yā Samīʿu, Yā Baṣīru, Yā Laṭīfu, Yā Khabīr. (x3)
      19. O Most High, O Most Great, O All-Knowing, O Most Able, O All- Hearing, O All-Seeing, O Most Gentle, O Most Aware. (Three times)
      يَا فَارِجَ الْهَمِّ، يَا كَاشِفَ الْغَّمِّ، يَا مَنْ لِعَبْدِهِ يَغْفِرُ وَيَرْحَمُ ﴿٣﴾
      Yā Fārija l-hammi, Yā Kāshifa l-ghammi, Yā man li-ʿabdihi yaghfiru wa yarḥam. (x3)
      20. Reliever of grief! O Remover of distress! O You Who are to His slave Forgiving and Compassionate. (Three times)
      اَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ رَبَّ الْبَرَايَا، اَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ مِنَ الْخَطَايَا ﴿٤﴾
      Astaghfiru Llāha Rabba l-barāyā, astaghfiru Llāha mina l-khaṭāyā. (x4)
      21. I ask Allah for forgiveness, the Lord of creation, I ask Allah for forgiveness from all wrongdoing. (Four times)
      لَا إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا اللهُ ﴿٥٠/١٠٠/١٠٠٠﴾
      Lā ilāha illa Llāh. (x50/100/1000).
      22. There is no God but Allah. (Fifty / one hundred / one thousand times)
      لَا إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا اللهُ مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَشَرَّفَ وَكَرَّمَ وَمَجَّدَ وَعَظَّمَ وَرَضِيَ اللهُ تَعَالَى عَنْ أَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ الْمُطَهَّرِينَ وَأَصْحَابِهِ الْمُهْتَدِينَ وَالتَّابِعِينَ لَهُمْ بِإِحْسَانٍ إِلَى يَوْمِ الدِّينِ، وَعَلَيْنَا مَعَهُمْ وَفِيهِمْ بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ
      Lā ilāha illa Llāhu Muḥammadu r-Rasūlu Llāh ṣalla Llāhu ʿalayhi wa ṣallama, wa sharrafa wa karrama wa majjada wa ʿaẓẓama wa raḍiya Llāhu ʿan ahli baytihi l-muṭṭaharīna wa aṣḥābihi l-muhtadīna wa t-tābiʿīna lahum bi iḥsānin ilā yawmi d-dīn, wa ʿalaynā maʿahum wa fīhim bi raḥmatika Yā Arḥama r-Rāḥimīn.
      23. There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, may Allah send blessings and peace upon him, honour, venerate, extol and exalt him, and may He be pleased with his pure family, his rightly guided Companions and those who follow them with excellence until the Last Day, and may we be included therein with them, with Your mercy, O Most Merciful.
      ﴿بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
      قُلۡ هُوَ ٱللّٰهُ أَحَدٌ ١ ٱللَّهُ ٱلصَّمَدُ ٢ لَمۡ يَلِدۡ وَلَمۡ يُولَدۡ ٣ وَلَمۡ يَكُن لَّهُۥ كُفُوًا أَحَدُۢ ٤
      ﴾ ﴿٤﴾
      Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm
      Qul Huwa Llāhu aḥad, Allāhu ṣ-Ṣamad, lam yalid wa lam yūlad, wa lam yakun lahu kufuwan aḥad. (x3)
      24. In the Name of Allah, the Benevolent, the Merciful. Say: He is Allah, Absolute Oneness, Allah the eternal. He has not given birth and He was not born, and He has no equal. (Three times)
      [112:1-4]
      ﴿بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
      قُلۡ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلۡفَلَقِ ١ مِن شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ ٢ وَمِن شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ ٣ وَمِن شَرِّ ٱلنَّفَّٰثَٰتِ فِي ٱلۡعُقَدِ ٤ وَمِن شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ ٥
      Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm
      Qul aʿūdhu bi Rabbi l-falaq, min sharri mā khalaq, wa min sharri ghāsiqin idhā waqab, wa min sharri n-naffāthāti fi l-ʿuqad, wa min sharri ḥāsidin idhā ḥasad.
      25. In the Name of Allah, the Benevolent, the Merciful Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak from the evil of that which He created and from the evil of darkness when it settles and from the evil of those who blow on knots and from the evil of an envier when he envies.
      [113:1-5]
      ﴿بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
      قُلۡ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلنَّاسِ ١ مَلِكِ ٱلنَّاسِ ٢ إِلَٰهِ ٱلنَّاسِ ٣ مِن شَرِّ ٱلۡوَسۡوَاسِ ٱلۡخَنَّاسِ ٤ ٱلَّذِي يُوَسۡوِسُ فِي صُدُورِ ٱلنَّاسِ ٥ مِنَ ٱلۡجِنَّةِ وَٱلنَّاسِ ٦
      Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm
      Qul aʿūdhu bi Rabbi n-nās, Maliki n-nās, Ilāhi n-nās, min sharri l-waswāsi l-khannās, al-ladhī yuwaswisu fī ṣudūri n-nās, mina l-jinnati wa n-nās.
      26. In the Name of Allah, the Benevolent, the Merciful Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, the Sovereign of mankind, the God of mankind from the evil of the retreating whisperer, who whispers into the breasts of mankind among the jinn and humans.
      [114:1-6]
      اَلْفَاتِحَة إِلَى رُوحِ سَیِّدِنَا رَسُولِ اللهِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، ثُمَّ إِلَى رُوحِ المُهَاجِر إِلَى اللهِ سَیِّدِنَا أَحْمَدِ بْنِ عِيسَى، ثُمَّ إِلَى رُوحِ الْأُسْتَاذِ الْأَعْظَمِ بَابِ الْعَلَوِيِّينَ سَیِّدِنَا الْفَقِيهِ الْمُقَدَّمِ مُحَمَّدِ بِن عَلِيّ بَا عَلَوِي وَأُصُولِهِمْ وَفُرُوعِهِمْ، أَنَّ اللهَ يُعْلِي دَرَجَاتِهِمْ فِي الْجَنَّةِ وَيَنْفَعُنَا بِهِمْ وَبِأَسْرَارِهِمْ وَأَنْوَارِهِمْ وَعُلُومِهِمْ وَبَرَكَاتِهِمْ وَنَفَحَاتِهِمْ وَإِمْدَادِهِمْ فِي الدِّينِ وَالدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ، اَلْفَاتِحَة أَثَابَكُمُ الله
      Al-Fātiḥa ilā rūḥi Sayyidinā Rasūli Llāhi Sayyidinā Muḥammadi bni ʿAbdi Llāhi (ṣalla Llāhu ʿalayhi wa ṣallam), thumma ilā rūḥi l-Muhājir ila Llāhi Sayyidinā Aḥmadi bni ʿĪsā, thumma ilā rūḥi l-ustādhi l-Aʿẓam bābi l-ʿAlawiyyīna Sayyidina l-Faqīhi l-Muqaddami Muḥammadi bni ʿAliyyi Bā ʿAlawī wa uṣūlihim wa furūʿihim, anna Llāha yuʿlī darajātihim fi l-Jannati wa yanfaʿunā bihim wa bi asrārihim wa anwārihim wa ʿulūmihim wa barakātihim wa nafaḥātihim wa imdādihim fi d-dīni wa d-dunyā wa l-ākhirati, al-Fātiḥa athābakumu Llāh.
      27. May the Fatiha reach the soul of our Master, the Messenger of Allah, Our Master Muhammad, the son of Abdallah, then to the soul of the one who migrated for the sake of Allah, Ahmad bin Isa, then to the soul of al-Ustadh al-Azam, the doorway to the Alawiyyin, our Master al-Faqih al-Muqaddam, Muhammad bin Ali Ba Alawi and also their forefathers and descendants. May Allah elevate their ranks in Paradise and grant us benefit through them, their secrets, lights, knowledge, blessings, breaths and spiritual aid in the religion, the world and the hereafter, al-Fatiha.
      ثُمَّ اَلْفَاتِحَة إِلَى أَرْوَاحِ سَادَاتِنَا الصُّوفِيَّةِ أَيْنَمَا كَانُوا حَلَّتْ أَرْوَاحُهُمْ فِي مَشَارِقِ الْأَرْضِ وَمَغَارِبِهَا، أَنَّ اللهَ يُعْلِي دَرَجَاتِهِمْ فِي الْجَنَّةِ وَيَنْفَعُنَا بِهِمْ وَبِأَسْرَارِهِمْ وَأَنْوَارِهِمْ وَعُلُومِهِمْ وَبَرَكَاتِهِمْ وَنَفَحَاتِهِمْ وَإِمْدَادِهِمْ فِي الدِّينِ وَالدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ، الْفَاتِحَة أَثَابَكُمُ الله
      Thumma l-Fātiḥa ilā arwāḥi Sādātina ṣ-Ṣūfiyyati aynamā kānū ḥallat arwāḥuhum fī mashāriqi l-arḍi wa maghāribihā, anna Llāha yuʿlī darajātihim fi l-Jannati wa yanfaʿunā bihim wa bi asrārihim wa anwārihim wa ʿulūmihim wa barakātihim wa nafaḥātihim wa imdādihim fi d-dīni wa d-dunyā wa l-ākhirati, al-Fātiḥa athābakumu Llāh.
      28. May the Fatiha reach the soul of our Sufi Masters, wherever their souls reside in the East and the West May Allah elevate their ranks in Paradise, grant us benefit through them, their secrets, lights, knowledge, blessings, breaths and spiritual aid in the religion, the world and the hereafter, al-Fatiha.
      اَلْفَاتِحَة إِلَى رُوحِ صَاحِبِ الرَّاتِبِ، قُطْبِ الْإِرْشَادِ وَغَوْثِ الْعِبَادِ وَالْبِلَادِ سَیِّدِنَا الْإِمَامِ الْحَبِيبِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بِنْ عَلَوِي الْحَدَّادِ وَأُصُولِهِ وَفُرُوعِهِ، أَنَّ اللهَ يُعْلِي دَرَجَاتِهِمْ فِي الْجَنَّةِ وَيَنْفَعُنَا بِهِمْ وَبِأَسْرَارِهِمْ وَأَنْوَارِهِمْ وَعُلُومِهِمْ وَبَرَكَاتِهِمْ وَنَفَحَاتِهِمْ وَإِمْدَادِهِمْ فِي الدِّينِ وَالدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ، الْفَاتِحَة أَثَابَكُمُ الله
      Al-Fātiḥa ilā rūḥi Ṣāḥibi r-Rātibi Quṭbi l-Irshādi wa Ghawthi l-bilādi Sayyidina l-Imāmi l-Ḥabībi ʿAbdi Llāhi bni ʿAlawiyyi l-Ḥaddād wa uṣūlihi wa furūʿihi, anna Llāha yuʿlī darajātihim fi l-Jannati wa yanfaʿunā bihim wa bi asrārihim wa anwārihim wa ʿulūmihim wa barakātihim wa nafaḥātihim wa imdādihim fi d-dīni wa d-dunyā wa l-ākhirati, al-Fātiḥa athābakumu Llāh.
      29. May the Fatiha reach the soul of the Master of the Ratib, the Qutb, the Spiritual Guide, the Supreme Help of the people and the countries: our master, al-lmam, al-Habib Abdallah bin Alawi al- Haddad, and his forefathers and descendants. May Allah elevate their ranks in Paradise, and grant us benefit through them, their secrets, lights, knowledge, blessings, breaths and spiritual aid in the religion, the world and the hereafter, al-Fatiha.
      اَلْفَاتِحَة إِلَى أَرْوَاحِ كَآفَّةِ عِبَادِ اللهِ الصَّالِحِينَ وَلِوَالِدِينَا وَجَمِيعِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ وَالْمُسْلِمِينَ وَالْمُسْلِمَاتِ، أَنْ اللهَ يَغْفِرُ لَهُمْ وَيَرْحَمُهُمْ وَيَنْفَعُنَا بَأَسْرَارِهِمْ وبَرَكَاتِهِمْ
      Al-Fātiḥa ilā arwāḥi kāffati ʿibādi Llāhi ṣ-ṣāliḥīna wa li wālidīnā wa jamīʿi l-mu'minīna wa l-mu'mināti wa l-muslimīna wa l-muslimāti, anna Llāha yaghfiru lahum wa yarḥamuhum wa yanfaʿunā bi asrārihim wa barakātihim.
      30. May the Fatiha reach the soul of all the devout, pious people, our parents, all the believing men and women and the Muslim men and women. May Allah grant them forgiveness and have mercy upon them and benefit us through their secrets and their blessings.

      (The reader should praise Allah and supplicate here for whatever they wish).
      وَإِلَى حَضْرَةِ النَّبِيِّ سَیِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، اَلْفَاتِحَة
      Wa ilā ḥaḍrati n-nabiyyi Sayyidinā Muḥammadin ṣalla Llāhu ʿalayhi wa ṣallam, al-Fātiḥa.
      31. And may the Fatiha reach the presence of our Master Muhammad ﷺ, al-Fatiha.
      اَللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَسْأَلُكَ رِضَاكَ وَالْجَنَّةَ وَنَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ سَخَطِكَ وَالنَّارِ ﴿٣﴾
      Allāhumma innā nas'aluka riḍaka wa l-jannata wa naʿūdhu bika min sakhaṭika wa n-nār. (x3)
      32. O Allah we seek Your Pleasure and Paradise and we seek refuge in You from Your wrath and the Fire. (Three times)

      • Masha Allah, this was forwarded to me by a family member in the Philippines, who told me they found this in my grandfathers belongings also. He was a Islamic teacher in the Philippines and founded madrasas in the Southern part ( Zamboanga – Mindanao), During the Spanish time to the American Era.
        All we know of him was he came from Makkah,Saudi Arabia but originally from Hadramaut.
